My post about Samoa got me dreaming about getaways.
In a week where I managed to fall over whilst putting out the garbage, continued to cough and sneeze for Australia, ran Mum's Taxi service, and worst of all, found out my dentist has moved on (WAH!), I really wanted someone to take me away from all this.
And chatting to my peeps on twitter, Facebook, and in real life (yes, I do have some!), it seems everyone feels pretty much the same this time of year.
It seems our getaway dreams all have a few things in common.
Things like...
this...
or these!
An in-room spa bath
A comfy room
A lot of this! Oh yes please ...
And for the parents among us, sitting back and relaxing while someone entertains the kids at a fabulous kid's club! Oh my ...
A pool with a view ...
Paradise!
Wouldn't a resort that offers all this and more be a fabulous spot to escape to?
I thought so too.
And luckily for us, so did the people at the Australis Diamond Beach Resort And Spa.
Perched on the beachfront at Diamond Beach, on the NSW mid north coast, the architecturally-designed resort offers an award-winning restaurant, two pools, tennis court, gym, endota spa, kid's club and more.

My idea of a mini-getaway is simple - somewhere the sun is shining. After a long cold winter my body is screaming out for some fun in the sun, whether it is hanging out with the kids by the pool, exploring new places or just curled up somewhere reading a book and enjoying the peace and quiet.
If I sit really close to the heater (and block out the noise of grumbly moaning kids), I can almost imagine sitting in the sun, relaxing...
For me a mini-getaway needs to be near home - so I don't waste time travelling - but far away enough that I feel like I'm in a whole other world. It needs to be luxurious but affordable. And it needs to have an awesome buffet breakfast - I'd cut my arm off for a buffet breakfast - love them!!

This sounds like heaven - we cant afford a holiday this year so this would be a much loved prize!!
Have also tweeted (and now crossing fingers and toes to win!)
For me a getaway is all about leaving the normal and mundane behind. Whether that's eating out somewhere new or sleeping in with the glorious feeling that you don't have to get up and do anything if you don't want to - that's what a true holiday means to me.
I'm not sure I remember what a holiday is LOL!! Warm sunshine, no cleaning or cooking & just relaxing (which could men wandering around a zoo, or along the beach or just feet up with a book).

Hi B - my idea of a Getaway :)
1. Knowing lotus & pets will b happy n safe for 2 nights without me
2. Peaceful place surrounded by nature
3. Waking up in the comfiest bed ever naturally
4. Not worrying about real life 4 set amount of time
5. Time to replenish my worn down self - Self Love
6. Being Grateful regardless
Usually camping but to upgrade to this type of holiday would be awesome!!
I have tweeted :)
I have facebooked the link :)
Somewhere comfy and relaxing, not too much going on but things to do, and nice pub, maybe some walks...more importantly being able to get away from it all for a bit...bliss!
I tweeted too!
Obviously, not too far away from home so that we don't spend more time travelling than staying. Value for money is a priority,as are good food, access to activities, and basically, a place to relax. Looks like Australis Diamond Beach Resort & Spa fits the bill! Thanks for the chance to win.

I would LOVE another getaway.
Alas it is just too far from home.
*sob*
My idea of a mini holiday is somewhere not to far from home, somewhere you can turn the phones off and just relax and enjoy not having to be at home doing work or housework. Somewhere peaceful and relaxing.
My perfect getaway would be somewhere warm where I can get away from the dull and mundane for a little while and relax.
You know, I've been married for 18 years and am STILL waiting to take my honeymoon! At this stage, I don't care if I have to take the kids with us, I need to get away! Hehe.
Oh, a mini getaway would involve a sleep-in, a big buffet breakfast and then just lounging by a pool/beach with a cool drink and a good book....mmmm notice I didn't mention the husband or kids...okay, maybe the husband can come along! The 3 boys I would leave with their grandparents (great bonding time, right?)...I just can't see a relaxing getaway involving changing dirty nappies, breaking up fights, cleaning up messes etc :)

to win this holiday would be perfect, especially as we are driving from Central QLD to Canberra this year and could stop on the way.
What we look for in the perfect getaway:
DH golf course nearby
DD1 day spa
DD2 movies
DD3 kids club
DS swimming pool
ME somewhere that will fit all six of us!l
looks like this place fits the bill! cheers and thanks for the chance
Anywhere I can have a sleep in and gives me an escape from the washing machine. And from being entertainment co-ordinator for the kids. And from cooking. And from cleaning. And from being the taxi driver. And where there is wine. That's not too much to ask, surely?

Mmmmmm, something to keep everyone occupied while i can just have time to myself.
Facebooked too. xxx
I would love a weekend get away or even a mid week get away, I dont remember when I last had a holiday. Oh a massage would be bliss, sitting and realzing, it sounds so dreamy. Working, Mumming, Taxiing all takes its toll. LOVE the idea of 2 days off at a spa
I hav facebook and tweeted this link too :)
I look for things like a great outdoor relaxation area (pool / beach / tree), a day spa-y thingy, a huge bed and a Do Not Disturb sign! x
Some alone time with hubby to relax & enjoy each other's company without having to worry about children & there medical issues. All mum's need me time, we don't get it enough.
(posted on FB)
Any holiday would be a good one for me-you know, actually leaving this city would be nice. I haven't in over a year. As a single mum and FT student, holidays are scarce. My ideal holiday therefore is anything involving 1. Leaving Melbourne. 2. No work/study 3.A bed. That's it really. Oh, copious amounts of cocktails, a huge library, wifi, babysitting and a pool would be nice but optional!

Mini getaways must give instant relief from the drag of life. Relaxation, revitalisation and rest.

My idea of a perfect getaway is sunshine, the mental space to just sit and sip yummy, fruity drinks, no kids yelling "mum, I want...." and someone giving me a foot massage!
As you know my husband has a genetic form of Bone cancer and i would love to have even 1 day away with him to relax and be warm we need well he needs the warm weather.
Have tweeted and done shout out as well :-)
What an amazing competition Bronnie! Good luck to everyone! :D
My idea of the perfect holiday is having a few days with no commitments, a gorgeous pool to take my little boy swimming in and a comfy room to relax. This looks perfect.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Just the thought of a mini break makes me smile. Ahh...to think, me time, quiet time...pure relaxation in pure tranquility. Every now and then a mum needs time-out and how good it would be to chill-out at this awesome place! Cheers!!
Its so basic now all I want is time to myself and time with just hubby and I too - very rare now with two boys under two.
Nicole x
I'd say relaxing, but isn't that what everyone wants? A holiday away from the house would be perect, but I'd have to clean the house before we left so it didn't instantly stress me aout the moment we arrive back!

I'm always on the go with the kids, so in a getaway I am looking for a place to be still and relax. Unfortunately, my husband is always looking for excitement and lots of stuff to do, we are still looking for the perfect place where each can get their own.
I'm salivating just looking at the photos and reading the descrition of the place! It's precisely my perfect getaway! We so need this as it has been years since our last holiday.
Definitely kid friendly since I'd feel bad leaving them ...but I would consider it for sunshine for walks , a free massage and spa ( not really into bikini's and sunbaking)
Following with google friend connect (chonny88) I look for a room that will really provide relaxation and down time for parents with facilitoes that will also keep the kids happy. Having Nick Jnr channel works a treat, but so does being near a beach or a least having a closed in playground on site. Massages would be great, but that depneds on the cost and if I can get the kids looked after.

Hi Bronwyn,
I look for a swimming beach, some nature, peace and quite. Also heaps to keep the kids busy.
What I look for in a mini-getaway is a mini-bar...one that gets replenished daily without me having to go to the shops. And all I want is for anyone. ANYONE. to make the beds.
My idea of a perfect mini getaway- peace and quiet. Time to enjoy with my family, without the pressures of doing ANYTHING planned.
LOL... the word verification is "pollybra"...
Sorry had to giggle about that.. newest follower.
I'd LOVE a mini-getaway, and what I'd look for is either something REALLY gorgeous and seculded and romantic (if I can convince DH to leave DD at home!) or something that's wonderful and relaxing and fun where my DD (3 years) can have lots of fun too!
Since our babies are still so young, they go everywhere we go...so our mini break destinations have to be child-friendly with activities to keep the toddler amused!

A mini great away what a dream!!. As a single parent on my own with 2 girls for 6 years ive never been able to afford it, with school, uniforms, sport, bills. About a year ago i reconnected with my old BF from 17 years ago. Scarey first date in 6 years. Now its coming up to his birthday and i cant afford anything. Id love to have my 2 daughters and his son go away on a mini "family" break. Without housework and life. I lose everything 2 years ago in a fire and its been a struggle rebuilding, stress is my middle name. My man is wonderful id love to find a way to spoil him for his birthday from all of us :-)
In a mini getaway I look for a place far away from the farm and COWS! It has to be somewhere where we can not just dash home if something happens. Oh and someone else to watch the kids - that kids club sounds perfect!

Sun, cocktails, candles, spa, massage and Mr Veggie Dad. Ultimate getaway!
PS I hear you on that whole coughing and sneezing as an Olympic sport thing... sigh x
Oh a mini getaway. Wouldn't that be just fabulous. Taking two kids along though, so if someone could organise a sleep in for me that would be just awesome. I don't ask for much do I :)
All I look for in a getaway is a nice room, a cocktail or two and the glorious absence of the dinner/bath/bed routine...if only for a weekend! Throw in a spa treatment and a coastal location and you could call it Heaven!! :)
To sleep, to sleep perchance to dream....get away from the droll trolls at work :)
BF better ask for time of work...or else ..lol
The perfect getaway for me means sunshine, sleep, good books, and wine or cocktails!
If I have to take the kids a kids' club is fantastic too. But just quietly, I'd rather not have to take them ;)
Have also tweeted!
I would love to win something like this. A mini break would be fantastic.
Just tweeted it too! :)
And now tweeted. Fingers crossed. lol.
I look for some time out, nothing of the usual, stress free and preferably child free! Apart from that any time with my wonderful husband where we don't have to work or clean is great!

My Mini Getaway would have to involve sleep and some quiet, just to think with out a little voice in my ear. Just for a mini moment :)

In a mini-getaway.. I look for somewhere that's new - I love visiting places I've never been before, and seeing things I've never seen.
(I'd prefer not to have my details shared with Australia Diamond Beach. Thanks for a great giveaway!)
Oh wowee I would love the chance to win this amazing prize! Thanks so much for hosting it!
Australis Diamond Beach Resort And Spa sounds like just the ticket. You can't go wrong with sea, a spa and someone to do the cooking:)

A mini getaway would need sun and new shops to venture into :)

I would love to get away - to anywhere! We just built a house so money is really tight. This place looks fantastic!
I have shared this on Twitter...

For a great mini getaway, add one part rest to two parts relaxation (you can use massage or sunbaking to substitute), mix with three parts vodka, garnish with gourmet ingredients and then shake well - on the dance floor! Share with someone extra special: pefection! A five star mini getaway experience!
I also tweeted :-)
I need that massage. Now.
I would love a mini-getaway because my husband was laid low with a stomach bug on our honeymoon. Not attractive. So on my list of the perfect getaway is no bugs in the food.
