Sea World part two - and a giveaway!

It's the weekend, and what better time to revisit our stay at the Sea World Resort and Water Park on the Gold Coast?

One of the great things about staying at the resort is that you can go back to your room and rest when little legs get tired, and then return later. (Who am I kidding? When big legs get tired, or Mumma needs a rest!)

Even better, if you stay two nights or more at the resort, you're entitled to a Dolphin Discovery presentation before the park opens each day.

That means you get front row seats and the undivided attention of the presenter - great for inquiring minds with loads of questions.

We chose to do the presentation on our second day at the resort, and followed it up with yet more fun at the theme park.

And read on, because you could be visiting Sea World, plus Wet 'n' Wild, and Movie World for free. Thanks to the lovely people at Village Roadshow Theme Parks and the Sea World Resort, I have a family VIP pass to give away. That means unlimited entry to all three parks until June 2013!

Front row at the Dolphin Discovery presentation

A lovely morning with Sea World's friendly dolphins

Harmonie loved the sting rays

Sea World was offering free paddle boating while we were there, and still are for a limited time

I like that Sea World is one of the theme parks that is introducing healthier options for meals. I never feel like hot and greasy food at theme parks, and the kids are mainly interested in drinks. An acceptable ham and salad roll was $7.99

Harmonie loved the monorail ...

Chase getting wet at Castaway Cove

The kids wanted to go in the 'people dryer', but Mean Mumma said no. Not when there was the perfectly lovely Queensland sun to dry them off.

We couldn't leave without having an ice-cream

Touring Sea World is hungry work. Sitting down to dinner at the resort's buffet restaurant

The kids loved the dessert bar ... totally healthy. Ahem.

Does it look like fun? It totally is!

If you'd like to win the Family VIP pass, simply leave a comment below sharing what you'd love to do at Sea World.

You'll get an extra entry if you also like my facebook page and/or leave a comment there.

Entries close at 5 pm on August 24 AEST.

Good luck.

This competition has now been drawn and the winner is Melanie from A Welcoming Hearth. Congratulations!

It looks like a wonderful day. What a great place. My kids have always wanted to go. But to be honest taking a family of 6 costs more than half a grand! lol Would really love to give my family this. Thank you

I'd love to watch my daughter as she sees all the animals we read about in books. She would love the dolphins and seals! We have a book that talks about a seal being 'heavy' and she keeps saying 'lift up?' and I'm still not sure that she believes me when I say how big they are! Sea World would be so much fun :)

I'd love to see the look on my bubba's little face when she sees all the fish in the underground tank! I still remember my first visit to Seaworld, many, many years ago!

We would love to; adore the Fairy Penguins, marvel at Dinosaur Island, laugh at the Sponge Bob Parade, delight in the Dolphins and enjoy the tiny and not so tiny creatures in Shark Bay. Most of all, we would just be incredibly thrilled to be able to spend a wonderful family day out together and not have to break the bank. Seaworld is such a treat, because it combines all the fun of an amusement park, with the wonder of a wildlife park. Love it and so educational for the kids too.

My daughter loves animals but has never seen a dolphin it would be wonderful to introduce her to them, She also loves food.....

We want to do it all, times five!! I am taking the kids up to the Gold Coast in the September school holidays. I am a mum alone as my hubby will be back in the Middle East. Yes, I am terrified of taking teens and twins alone but am sure we'll be OK more or less.

I'd love to let them all see Sea World, of course and the dolphins would absolutely be the main attraction. But we'd see it ALL!

And have liked your Facebook, which I thought I'd done already but hadn't so that's sorted.

People dryer?? That actually sounds like fun! I'm totally jealous of my littlies when are small enough to fit under the hand dryers and dry themselves!!

Our 3 year old would love seeing all the animals up close at Sea World - the dolphins, penguins, and polar bears in particular. Patting sting rays iss also a highlight.

I live in Brisbane but I have never been to Seaworld- and neither have most of my kids! I'd love to take them for a fun day out- and pack as much in as possible, definitely see the dolphin show and spoil them with icecreams :)

I would absolutely love to pay a bit extra and go the whole mile by jumping straight into the shark bay and have a swim!!! This would get the exhilaration back into my life!! While Dad and Kids watch from the Monorail !!

Bronnie Marquardt said...

What lovely comments! Sea World is a fun day out, and we always learn something new. The staff are great at answering the kids' questions too. And Julia, we plan to do the shark boy swim too - or should we do the seal experience? Or the dolphins? Sigh ...

The best thing about getting to Sea World is the fantastic chance to see my Dad, who lives in Queensland. Everytime we book a holiday to the Gold Coast we catch up with family.
